WHO WE ARE

Every year, up to 12 million tons of plastic waste enter the sea. Of this amount, 10% consists of equipment from both commercial and small-scale fisheries. The leftover nets, fishing gear, and other debris in the sea represent a global problem that directly impacts marine and coastal ecosystems. Many marine animals, such as turtles, whales, and dolphins, die from ingestion or entanglement, and coral reefs are also destroyed by being covered with this equipment.

The Nets Up project was established with a commitment to restoring marine ecosystems by leveraging a collaboration platform from a network of partners. It aims to connect the entire value chain comprehensively and create a mechanism for managing discarded fishing nets, based on the principles of a circular economy for sustainable seas.

OUR MISSION

The core of Nets Up is to connect a value chain with traceability
from upstream to downstream through the integration of partners across all sectors:

COLLECTION

Collect discarded fishing nets,
clean and sort by materials

TRANSPARENT
BUYING PROCESS

The waste banks record buying
and selling data via "KoomKah"
application

RECYCLING PROCESS

Produce High Quality PCR
with innovative recycling process

DEVELOP INTO THE
MARINE MATERIALS

The marine materials can be used
to produce various application

OUR IMPACT

This initiative aims to reduce environmental impact while promoting income
generation for local fishing communities through the sorting and recycling of these nets.
