SABINA Joins the Nets Up Project in Collaboration with DMCR on World Oceans Day 2024, Promoting the 'From Marine… to Fashion' Collection, Reinforcing its Commitment to Environmental Conservation

Bangkok, June 8, 2024 – The Nets Up project, a model for creating added value through Circular Economy innovations, upcycling discarded fishing nets into sustainable marine materials, led by Dr. Pinsak Suraswadi, Director-General of the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR), Ms. Duangdao Mahanavanont, CEO of Sabina Public Company Limited, Mr. Kris Pakdeechit of The Youth Fund, Ms. Namthip Samphowprasert, Brand Management and Social Inclusion Director, and Mr. Krisada Ruangchotvit, Head of Circular Economy at SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited, participated in the presentation of products from the Nets Up project on World Oceans Day 2024. The ceremony was honored by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Pol. Gen. Phatcharavat Wongsuwan, who accepted the products.

The "World Oceans Day 2024" event, organized by the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment at Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World, Siam Paragon, was held under the theme “Awaken New Depths.” The event emphasized the connection between humanity and the ocean, highlighting our shared responsibility to protect ecosystems. Its objectives were to disseminate knowledge and campaign for all sectors to recognize the importance of the oceans, while raising global awareness and inspiring conservation efforts.

SABINA participated in environmental and marine conservation by creating lingerie and products for the "From Marine… to Fashion" collection. As the first brand to initiate the use of discarded fishing nets to produce new products, this collection will help reduce approximately 620 kilograms of discarded fishing nets and offset up to 4 tons of carbon dioxide.
