Nets Up Joins AEPW’s “Circularity in Actions, Solutions for Change” Showcase in Ottawa, Canada
Ottawa, 19 April 2024 - The Nets Up project is deeply honored to be part of the Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW) event, "Circularity in Action, Solutions for Change," taking place from 19-24 April 2024 at The Westin Ottawa, Canada. This prestigious showcase gathers innovative solutions that aim to end plastic waste and drive the global transition to a circular economy.
Nets Up is an initiative that repurposes discarded fishing nets into an innovative, recycled material called Marine Materials. This material has extended value in various industries, including textiles. By turning Marine Materials into yarn and weaving them into fabric, the project offers new options for environmentally conscious brand owners and consumers. Through this circular economy approach, the project promotes maximum resource efficiency, reduces marine waste, and helps mitigate global warming.
In addition to Nets Up, the showcase features over 30 pioneering solutions spanning the entire lifecycle of plastics. This event serves as a powerful reminder that solving the plastic waste crisis requires collective action. By sharing our experiences, knowledge, and lessons learned, Nets Up hopes to inspire others to join this vital mission and take meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future.
Together, we can create change—one innovation at a time.
